WHAT A WHEAT STRAWS
VS
OTHER STRAWS

WHAT A WHEAT VS
PAPER STRAWS
Paper means less tree, so unless they come from FSC® certified paper sourced from managed plantations,
they are not exactly the most environmental solution.
Paper straws production is tedious and uses lots of chemicals.
Wheat Stems Drinking Straws are a byproduct of wheat production, a zero waste product that is sustainable.
Being natural that means that our sipping straws are not processed with chemicals.
Paper straws get soggy in a couple of minutes, hence, they are far from ideal.
WHAT A WHEAT last for days in liquids without getting mush.
Our straws are just a better alternative.

WHAT A WHEAT
VS
GLASS STRAWS
Glass straws are an excellent solution for home.
You can reuse them and scrub them every time.
Like every reusable straws, in restaurants and bars they pose a massive hygienic problem since the metal straws should be scrubbed internally every time while getting washed. Dishwashers are unable to clean the metal straws deep inside. Think about getting some leftover pulp in your mouth from someone else smoothie. Yuck.
Wouldn't you prefer a disposable straws that is life-friendly?

WHAT A WHEAT
VS
METAL STRAWS
Metal straw is a great reusable alternative for the single as long as you remember to bring yours with you every time.
But have you tried to drink with them any hot liquid? Ohh my, they burn like hell.
Last thing you want is a blister on your or your customers lips.
What a Wheat can withstand hot drinks without problems for days.
They will not get hot and will not get soggy.

Bamboo straws certainly give your drinks an exotic touch. Wheat Straws too :)
Bamboo, when dry it is porous, so it absorbs flavors.
It is the less hygienic of all the reusable straws, even if scrubbed at every wash, they can trap germs inside.
There are no sustainable managed plantation of bamboo, meaning that if we were to move completely to Bamboo straws, there will be less and less available for local population.
Bamboo straws tend to crack in hot liquid. That can cause leakage and splinters. Wheat Stems stand hot liquid for ages.
Just go safe and clean with What a Wheat, would you?

BAMBOO STRAW

We love new ideas that can benefit our planet.
Quite new on the market, rice straws are a mix of rice starch and tapioca.
A Korean entrepreneur came up with the idea and we follow it close.
They last few hours in liquids, way way less in hot liquid tho.
They are eatable which is a pro.
Problem is that in a world where Hunger is a major issues, shall we use food as disposable straws? We honestly think it is quite silly.
Other problem it is the cost, quite prohibitive.
Sorry, but WHAT A WHEAT is still a better solution.
WHAT A WHEAT
VS
RICE STRAWS

This looked like a great idea few years back.
Then we try them out and we start seeing the problems.
While sturdy and less prone to become soggy, they tend to become slimy quite fast.
They do alter the flavor of your drinks as well as the color since they are loosing amid in your drinks at higher pace.
Not suitable for Coeliacs and gluten intolerant, we had to say no to Pasta Straws.
Once again, food should be eaten, not throw in the bin.
Still great for a pasta dish with tomato sauce!
