WHAT A WHEAT  wheat-stem drinking straws offer an excellent, environmentally sustainable and economically feasible alternative to disposable plastic straws.

WHAT? A WHEAT STEM?

We have not invented anything new, but these straws can revolutionise how we consume beverages. Sometimes to go ahead it is worth to look back.

Wheat stems were the drinking straws that we used on a daily basis

before the nasty invention of plastic ones.

PAPER STRAWS vs WHEAT STRAWS

One may argue that disposable paper straws are an alternative.

However, their production is tedious and uses lots of chemicals and they get soggy in a couple of minutes. Hence, they are far from ideal.

Wheat Stems straws are not processed and are a sustainable solution.

We are working to get shorter 12cm ones

Correct. They are the stem of the wheat plant.

We strongly discourage to eat and digest the straws.

They should only be used as as drinking straws for a multitudes of drinks.

Hay or Grass allergies, what to do?

If you suffer from severe allergies to hay or grass we recommend you consult your doctor or allergist before using WHAT A WHEAT Natural drinking straws.

Are plastic straws cheaper?

Yes they are, but we must move away from something really cheap to start using something that it is still cheap but better for the environment.

We do suggest to start applying the 'Straws upon request' rule on your restaurant and bar.

By implement such a policy in your venue and offer straws only if your customers ask for, you will realize how few people actually do. With the money you will save by using less straws, you will be able to offset the cost of wheat straws easily.

It has been proven.
